Several reviews describe the restaurant as family oriented.

Venice Restaurant & Pizza, 125 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, 203-438-7007. Open since 1973, Ridgefielders rave about this Copps Hill Plaza institution. They serve great pizza, by the slice, and Italian food, in a dining room and outdoor patio, and never turn customers away. Everyone gets in with our without a reservation but make one anyway.
On Yelp Anita F., of Oxford, PA, said, "Was craving good chicken parm and found this place on Yelp. SO GOOD!!! The chicken parm was delicious and the cannoli absolutely the best I have had. The service was great even though they were incredibly busy on a Wed night! I can't wait to return so I can try the other items that also looked scrumptious!
If you feel like taking your mom just over the border you may want to try Kala Bistro, 1995 Whitney Ave., North Haven, 203-889-2275. Why? Specials Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. cost $29, which is a three-course meal with such dishes as duck confit risotto, spaghetti with grape tomato, broccoli, butternut squash, zucchini in a lemon-garlic sauce from noon to 6 p.m. They are also still taking reservations.
